In My Perspective
Pioneering Aerospace for a Safe and United World
The world is changing quickly and becoming increasingly unpredictable. In these volatile times, our purpose remains clear: to pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world. Our mission is to connect and protect people. As we look into 2026, we are focusing on expanding our industrial footprint to support increased production.
This growth is already evident in our Commercial Aircraft sector, where we recently opened new final assembly lines for the A320 in the U.S. and China. In December, we reached a major milestone by completing the acquisition of certain Spirit AeroSystems work packages, and we met our adjusted delivery targets by delivering 793 aircraft to 91 customers worldwide.
While we celebrate these successes, we remain realistic about the challenges ahead. We are maintaining an ongoing focus on securing our delivery schedule for the year in the face of a shortage of engines from Pratt & Whitney. Despite these supply chain pressures, the A320 Family officially became the most delivered aircraft in the world at the end of last year.
This momentum extends to regions such as Latin America, where we recently delivered 43 aircraft and 23 helicopters. In Latin America alone, we achieved a service order intake of $319 million USD for commercial aircraft and €111 million for helicopters, as well as a new aircraft order from the Abra Group.
Our commitment to safety and quality is our top priority, especially as we reflect on past challenges. Recent events, such as the A320 software recall and fuselage panel issues, have reinforced our commitment to prioritizing safety as we increase production. The same discipline applies to our sustainability goals. In 2025, 21% of the fuel used for our aircraft and helicopter flights was Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), keeping us on track to reach our 30% SAF usage target by 2030. To help our partners overcome the logistical difficulty of sourcing fuel, we launched a "book and claim" initiative with some industry partners that allows customers to purchase SAF and digitally claim the CO₂ emission reductions.
Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, we have set ambitious financial and operational targets. Our goal is to deliver around 870 commercial aircraft this year. Financially, we are aiming for an adjusted EBIT of around €7.5 billion and a free cash flow of approximately €4.5 billion.
In Latin America we expect that we will continue to deliver on our commitments with our customers in 2026, while showcasing our aircraft at key industry events, supporting our customers in their growth ambitions, and contributing to the global production ramp-up through the strategic expansion of our facilities in Mexico. None of this would be possible without the unwavering commitment of our teams, whose dedication and expertise remain the driving force behind our operational success and our ability to meet the evolving needs of the region.
