From April 7 through April 12, Airbus returned to Santiago, Chile, for FIDAE 2026. As one of the most significant aerospace events in Latin America e, this edition served as a powerful showcase of how Airbus products are answering the needs of the region. Alongside the event, Airbus also celebrated its own milestone: 25 years of a direct presence in Chile
The Airbus static display was highlighted by the impressive A400M, operated by the Spanish Air and Space Force. The aircraft’s presence showcased the deep cooperation between Spain and Latin American nations, demonstrating the A400M’s unmatched capability for long-range strategic transport and its ability to operate in the demanding environments typical of the Andean region.
Airbus also featured the A350-900 alongside Delta Air Lines, emphasizing its role in defining long-range operational efficiency. On the helicopter static display, showgoers could see the H125, widely recognized as the "Guardian of the Andes" which was joined by the H130 and the multi-role H145. Local operational presence was further evidenced by the delivery of an H135 and an H145 to the Chilean National Police: Carabineros, for public safety, combined with the delivery of an H160 to Helipatagonia, an Argentinian operator.
One of the major highlights of FIDAE 2026 was the debut of the “UAS Trio.” Airbus presented its latest advancements in unmanned aerial systems - SIRTAP, Aliaca, and Flexrotor. These platforms represent a new perspective for Latin American defense and civil protection, offering high-endurance surveillance capabilities for border security and natural disaster monitoring in the region’s most challenging terrains.
This year, Airbus also celebrated the 14th year anniversary of the FASAT Charlie, the first Earth Observation Satellite built by Airbus for Chile and operated by the Chilean Air Force (FACh).
