Paris Air Show: Innovation, Orders, and Future Focus
On June 16 to June 22, Airbus made its mark at one of the world's premier aerospace events: the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget. During this 55th edition, Airbus proudly showcased innovation projects like the Racer and highlighted a range of established aircraft including the A220, A350, H125M, H145, A400M, and the Eurofighter. Visitors also enjoyed an immersive experience zone, featuring 3D product displays, captivating space immersions, and interactive demonstrations, as well as a glimpse into the future with the Paris Air Lab.
Some of the highlights included:
● An exceptional interest in the A220 Family, with a total of 40 orders from LOT Polish Airlines for the A220.
● A continued momentum for the A350, with 53 orders from AviLease, EgyptAir, MNG Airlines, Riyadh Air and Starlux.
● The A320 Family showcased its lasting appeal. Our most proven aircraft family , the A320 Family, received 157 orders from AviLease, ANA Holdings and Vietjet.
● A Memorandum of Understanding to progress with MTU Aero Engines on hydrogen fuel cell propulsion, a promising and critical technology to decarbonise aviation. It follows Airbus' decision to focus research efforts on a fully electric, hydrogen-powered aircraft with a fuel cell engine, a field in which MTU has developed recognized expertise through its Flying Fuel Cell concept.
● Airbus and Quantum Systems signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their strategic partnership and enhance the capabilities of armed forces, all while ensuring European technological sovereignty.
● Airbus Helicopters and Leonardo are joining forces to carry out an architecture study to define the basis of the NH90 long-term evolution, known as Block 2, responding to a request from NAHEMA (NATO Helicopter Management Agency).
● Airbus partnered with Singapore to explore crewed-uncrewed teaming with the H225M.The partnership aims to explore how crewed-uncrewed teaming can enhance situational awareness and improve mission outcomes through a flight demonstration.
