Our region needs us

This year, our dear region has suffered an unprecedented number of devastating natural disasters.

I am struck by how many communities in Latin America and the Caribbean are in need of assistance after the earthquakes in Mexico, hurricanes in the Caribbean (and United States, where I am based), mudslides in Colombia and Peru and forest fires in Chile.

At Airbus, we have all been touched by the tremendous loss suffered by families and individuals. I am especially proud of the collaborations between the Airbus Foundation and our customers and suppliers to help those affected and I also applaud the many charitable organizations, non-profit groups and volunteers that rush to the aid of those in need.

But it is clear it will take a lot of time, effort and money for these communities to recover. This is why it has never been more important for the aviation industry to step up its humanitarian efforts, employee giving and philanthropic partnerships as a powerful demonstration of our commitment to the communities where we work and operate.

If the company where you work supports the many organizations already making a difference, consider making a contribution. Your time and donations can make an important impact in the rebuilding and recovery efforts already underway. And if you don’t know where to begin, our colleagues from the Airbus Foundation would be honored to guide you in the right direction.

In the name of those that will benefit from your donations, I thank you for your support.
