Mobile devices to increase maintenance efficiency
With the aim of constantly improving our current e-Solutions, and as part of the Smarter Fleet portfolio launched in partnership with IBM, Airbus has been working on a new solution dedicated to Maintenance Mobility.
The main objective is to provide maintenance personnel with useful, critical information and dedicated dashboards to support turnaround time (TAT) tasks and increase maintenance efficiency through the use of mobile devices.
The tool will address line mechanics requirements by providing up to date information, via a mobile interface, to facilitate the TAT providing all the necessary maintenance documentation, electronic work packages or aircraft technical status, as well as with the capacity to report job progression.
This innovation will allow team leaders and supervisors to monitor the complete TAT process in term of tasks and people, and to support the decision of aircraft swapping if necessary.
In addition, and thanks to collaborative means including chat and video conference, the Maintenance Mobility solution will also help to significantly improve troubleshooting and maintenance productivity with means to support remote resolution of technical issues.
